國煌來自屏東，曾任體育教授，於五年前退休後全心投入書法與現代水墨的創作。長年的教學與運動訓練，使他對身體節奏、力量控制與動態平衡具有深刻體會，這些經驗轉化為筆下直接而有張力的線條。

他的作品以傳統書法為根基，並在形式上進行開放性的探索。厚重的墨色與迅速果斷的筆勢，保留了書寫當下的速度與重量；同時，潑灑與色彩的運用，為畫面帶來接近當代藝術的空間感與呼吸。文字在可辨識與抽象之間游移，既承載語意，也呈現動作本身。

在 Kuo Huang 的創作中，書法不只是文化傳統的延續，更是一種關於時間、身體與精神狀態的記錄。
Kuo Huang was born in Pingtung and worked for many years as a physical education professor. After retiring five years ago, he devoted himself fully to calligraphy and contemporary ink practice. His long engagement with sports and teaching cultivated a deep awareness of rhythm, strength, and balance, qualities that now manifest as decisive and energetic brushwork.

Rooted in classical calligraphy, his practice extends toward an open exploration of form. Dense ink and swift gestures preserve the speed and weight of each moment of writing, while splashes of color introduce a spatial atmosphere closer to contemporary painting. The characters move between legibility and abstraction, carrying both linguistic meaning and the trace of bodily action.

In Kuo Huang’s work, calligraphy becomes more than a continuation of tradition. It is a record of time, movement, and states of mind.
